Drug - Arrest: C18-106619 & C17-177637
On May 22, 2018, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers observed a suspicious male riding a bike in the area of Pembina Hwy and Bishop Grandin Blvd. The male was stopped in the middle of the roadway and observed to be carrying a folding knife on his belt. He was approached by officers and after identifying him, it was discovered that he was the subject of several court-ordered conditions, including a weapons prohibition.
   
The suspect was arrested and searched. He was found to be in possession of packaging material and a bag containing .06 grams of methamphetamine. The bike was found to have been stolen from a sporting goods store in the 500 block of Pembina Hwy on August 10, 2017.
   
An additional 16 grams of methamphetamine were found upon searching the bicycle.
   
Eli Zachary LEWIN, a 34-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:

  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possess Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Fail to Comply with Probation. 

He was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
      
Drug - Arrests: C18-105871
On May 22, 2018, at approximately 1:15 a.m., district three general patrol officers conducted a traffic stop of a suspected stolen vehicle in the area of Pipeline Rd. and Beauty Avenue.  Two adult males from the vehicle were detained while computer checks were conducted.
   
One of the males was found to be in possession of 55 pieces of crack cocaine and more than $2000 in cash. Both males were placed under arrest.
   
A 22-year-old male and a 23-year-old male, both of Winnipeg, were arrested for Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime. They were both released on a Promise to Appear.
   
Drug - Arrest: C18-103694
On May 23, 2018, at approximately 12:00 p.m., members of the Street Crime Unit, Crime Suppression Unit, General Patrol and the Tactical Support Unit executed CDSA search warrants at two residences in the Niakwa neighbourhood of Winnipeg.
   
Officers seized the following items:

  • approximately 9.25 ounces of methamphetamine with a street value of $25,900
  • scales and packaging materials

 
Leif Kristjan OLAFSON, a 36-years-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with Possess Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking. He has been detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
