Drug Offence – Arrests: C18-87555   
On April 29, 2018, at approximately 7 p.m., District 3 General Patrol members were travelling in the area of Main Street and Armstrong Avenue when they observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed.
   
The vehicle was followed and a traffic stop was conducted in the 1100 block of Aikins Street. The three occupants of the vehicle identified themselves to officers and an investigation determined the two passengers had lied about their identities, both having outstanding warrants for their arrests.
   
One of the passengers kicked an officer when told she was under arrest. She was later found to have a forged identification card and a hunting knife in her possession. A second knife was found near the bottom of the driver's seat.
   
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a number of items including the following:
   
- Approximately 16.43 grams of methamphetamine (street value of about $1,650)
- Approximately 3.1 grams of cocaine (street value of about $250)
- $180 in Canadian currency
   
Kevin Grant Lingasin, a 37-year-old male of Winnipeg,has been charged with:
   
- Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
   
Desiree Sadie Ann Cushnie, an 18-year-old female of Winnipeg,has been charged with:
   
- Assault a Peace Officer
- Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of a Forged Document with Intent
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
   
Cushnie was also processed on a warrant for:
   
- Fail to Comply with Promise to Appear
   
Jason Steven Tre Sanderson, a 22-year-old male of Winnipeg,has been charged with:
   
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
   
Sanderson was also processed on a warrant for:
   
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice
   
They were detained in custody.

Robbery – Investigation: C18-30234
On February 11, 2018, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Winnipeg Police were notified that a 12-year-old male was robbed on his way home from a store on Euclid Avenue, in the North Point Douglas area. The suspect grabbed him from behind, choked him, punched him in the upper body and threw him to the ground before demanding money.
   
The victim gave the suspect a financial card belonging to his mother and the suspect fled.  
 
The suspect is described as a male in his 20's, approximately 5'9", with an average build and black hair. He was wearing green/blue gloves.
 


This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
