IMPAIRED DRIVING ARREST – C13-61899
On Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at approximately 12:15 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the area of Beliveau Road and Dakota Street regarding the report of a motor vehicle collision.
 
Investigation has revealed that earlier in the day a vehicle had been stolen from the 200 block of St. Anne's Road.  The suspect was driving eastbound on Beliveau Road when he collided with a westbound vehicle, failed to stop and continued eastbound.  The 30 year old driver of the westbound vehicle was transported to hospital and treated for non -life threatening injuries.
 
Moments later the accused struck a cross walk sign and travelled up onto the sidewalk narrowly avoiding a pedestrian.  The suspect then returned to the roadway and continued east bound without stopping.
 
At approximately 12:30 p.m. the suspect and vehicle were located in a parking lot in the 600 block of St. Anne's Road.  Officers activated their emergency equipment at which time the accused began to drive the stolen truck into the cruiser, striking it several times.  Both officers were able to exit their cruiser without injury and take the suspect into custody.  The suspect sustained minor injuries during the arrest for which he received medical treatment. 
 
Marlin James HENDERSON 26 years of Winnipeghas been detained in custody and is facing charges of:

  • Impaired Driving Cause Bodily Harm
  • Failure to Provide Breath Sample
  • Assault with a Weapon x 2
  • Motor Vehicle Theft
  • Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer
  • Drive while disqualified (HTA)
  • Fail to exchange particulars (HTA)
  • Fail to leave particulars re damage – adjacent property; property on highway (HTA)

 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – C13-062100
On Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched to a restaurant in the 1800 block of Main Street for the report of a commercial robbery.
 
Responding members met with an 18 year old male employee who advised that two suspects, both with their identities concealed and one armed with a weapon entered the premises and proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of money.  No one was injured during the incident.
 
Suspect #1 is described as: male, late teens to early twenties, approximately 6' in height, 180 pounds.
 
Suspect #2 is described as: male, late teens to early twenties, approximately 5'6" in height, 150-160 pounds with a skinny build.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – C13-062316
On Thursday, April 4, 2013 shortly after 1:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a convenience store in the 1300 block of Henderson Highway for the report of a commercial robbery.
 
Officers met with a 26 year old employee who stated that three suspects, all with their identities concealed and one armed with a weapon entered the store and proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.  The clerk was not injured.
 
Suspect #1 is described as: male, Caucasian, approximately 6' in height.
 
Suspects #2 & 3 are described as: male, approximately 6' in height.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
