COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – ARREST C13-71420
On April 18, 2013 at approximately 2:35 a.m., East District General Patrol members, including members of the Canine Unit responded to a robbery incident at a convenience located in the 100 block of Marion Street.
 
It was reported that a lone male suspect armed with a weapon entered the business and confronted two male employees. The business was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. No one was injured.
 
Moments later, Canine Unit members and General Patrol members arrived on scene at which time the male suspect was taken into custody without incident.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit were notified and continued with the investigation.
 
It was determined that the suspect was also involved in a theft incident a few days prior at a business located in the 300 block of Donald Street.
 
Timothy CHARLETTE, 27 years has been charged with the following offences due to his alleged involvement: Robbery with a Weapon and Theft under $5000.00.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
 
STRONG-ARM ROBBERY R13-25217
On April 17, 2013, members of the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of a robbery incident involving a 78 year old female victim.
 
The investigation has revealed that on April 15, 2013 at approximately 4:30 p.m., the victim was confronted by an unknown female suspect while walking up the outdoor steps to her apartment located in the 400 block of William Avenue.
 
The victim was assaulted and robbed of her property at which time a passer-by and area resident provided assistance. The victim sustained injuries as a result of the incident.
 
The suspect is described as: Female, Aboriginal in appearance, 40-45 years of age, 5'4" tall and slim build.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6668 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
