Aggravated Assaults – Investigation: C17-201416/C17-201425
On September 8, 2017, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a serious assault that had just occurred in the 300 block of Smith Street.
   
An adult male in his 40's was conveyed to hospital in unstable condition apparently suffering from a stab wound to the upper body. The victim is refusing to cooperate with police regarding the investigation.
   
While police were investigating this assault, a second came to into the area who was suffering from multiple stab wounds. An adult female in her 20's was taken to hospital in critical condition. It is believed the second victim was likely attacked in the area of Donald Street and Portage Avenue.
   
Both victims remain in hospital.
   
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
