Fire Investigation – C15-68347
On April 6, 2015 at approximately 6:45 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a working fire at a vacant building located at 44 Hargrave Street.
 
As a result of the fire, a neighbouring building was evacuated which also sustained damage.
 
Witnesses have indicated that several youth were observed fleeing the area suggesting the fire was deliberately set. The suspects are described as three females and two males between 14-15-years-of-age.
 
At this time, damage is estimated at $1,000,000.00.
 
Members of the WPS Arson Unit have been notified and continue to investigate. Anyone with further information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6813 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision – C15-68746
On April 7, 2015 at approximately 9:05 a.m., emergency services responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and Winnipeg transit bus.
 
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian involved succumbed to their injuries. The name, age and gender of the deceased will not be provided at this time as notifications are pending.
 
Traffic Collision Investigators have been notified and will remain in the area for several hours. Current road closures are as follows:
 
East and westbound Burrows Avenue
Southbound Keewatin Street at Inkster Boulevard
 
Northbound Keewatin Street remains open
