Aggravated Assault Investigation – Update – C15-64640
As previously reported, on April 1, 2015, the Winnipeg Police commenced an investigation into a serious assault that occurred on Hargrave Street. A 15-year-old-male was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Sexual Assault, and was detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.

Preliminary investigation determined that both the accused and the 15-year-old female victim were known to each other; both were wards of Child and Family Services and were staying at the same hotel within the City of Winnipeg.

On April 2nd, 2015, the WPS released additional information that stated Winnipeg Police Service members located the injured female eleven minutes prior to her being reported missing. Further investigation has revealed that the WPS also received a call from a CFS worker, before the victim was assaulted, reporting the victim missing.

Investigation into these matters continues. No further public information will be provided at this time.
