Homicide Investigation C15-76860
On April 17, 2015 at 10:50 p.m., officers and other emergency personnel responded to the area of the 700 block of Selkirk Avenue for the report of a stabbing.
 
Patrol members located a male with serious injuries at which time first aid was provided until Paramedics arrived. An adult male victim was pronounced deceased a short time later.
 
Members of the Homicide Unit were notified and continue to investigate. Interviews are on-going and an autopsy is pending to confirm cause of death.

Sexual Assault Investigation C15-76715
On April 17, 2015 just after 6:30 p.m., a 20-year-old female was walking in the area of Notre Dame Avenue and Isabel Street when an unknown male walked passed her. The male made a brief comment and then suddenly grabbed the victim's arm and purse.
 
The victim attempted to break free, however the suspect became more aggressive and a serious sexual assault occurred.
 
A motorist observed the confrontation and began yelling out. The suspect fled and victim made her way home and contacted police.
 
The suspect is described as: East Indian in appearance, mid 30's, 6'00" tall, large build, full beard, wearing: a white base-ball cap with a red logo on front, a dirty/torn t-shirt and white cargo shorts.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding the incident or suspect is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
