 Wanted Male- Arrest- C14-233733
Since September 2013, members of the Street Crimes Unit had been actively attempting to locate a male wanted on outstanding warrants for arrest.

On November 17, 2014, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, officers attended to a hotel within the 1800 block of Pembina Highway. Shortly after 3:00 p.m. the 25-year-old male suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Bradley Kenneth JONES, 25 years, of Winnipeg, was processed on five outstanding warrants for his arrest.

He has been remanded into custody.
 
Strong-Arm Robbery- Arrest- C14-246325
On November 17, 2014, at approximately 8:15 p.m. a 50-year-old male was waiting at a bus stop at the intersection of Balmoral Street and Cumberland Avenue when he was approached by an unknown male who requested a cigarette. The suspect then immediately pulled out a large knife and demanded that the victim turn over a suitcase he was carrying. When victim refused to turn over his property, the suspect came at the victim with the knife and a scuffle ensued.

Both the victim and the suspect were cut during the struggle. At this time, a second male suspect, 37 years of age, ran over to the pair and in a threatening manner and stood over the victim demanding this property. The victim turned over the suitcase and both suspects fled the scene.

Police were summoned and searched the area for the suspects with negative results. The victim suffered a puncture wound to his upper body.  

Shortly after 9:00 p.m. officers attended to an apartment block within the 400 block of William Avenue on an unrelated manner, where they located the victim's stolen suitcase and one of the outstanding suspects.  

The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

As a result of his alleged involvement, Hardisty BALLANTYNE, 37 years, of Winnipeg, has been charged with Robbery and Identity Fraud- Intent to Avoid Arrest.
 
He has been remanded into custody. The investigation is continuing by Division 11 Crime Unit members.
 
 
Strong-Arm Robbery Investigation- C14-246049
On November 17, 2014 at approximately 12:20 p.m. a 13-year-old student was returning to school when he was approached by an unknown male in the rear lane of the 400 block of Westwood Drive.
 
The suspect produced a knife and demanded the victim's money. A small amount of cash was turned over to the suspect, who immediately fled the area.
 
The victim, who was not injured, returned to school and immediately notified staff who summoned police.  An area search for the suspect met with negative results.
 
The suspect is described as: Caucasian male, in his 20's, approximately 5'10" tall, with an athletic build, brown eyes, dark brown hair and stubble on his face.  He was wearing a black hoodie, grey sweatpants with "Nike" down the right leg and a black toque.
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the West District Crime Unit. Anyone who has any information regarding the incident or the suspect is asked to contact detectives at (204) 986-2877 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
