Search Warrant/Firearm – Arrests: R17-61628
 
During the evening of August 1, 2017, members of the Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Organized Crime Unit, executed a search warrant on a residence in the 300 block of College Avenue.
 
The investigation has led to the seizure of a Winchester Defender 12-gauge shotgun with ammunition, $1,135 Canadian currency and a small amount of marijuana.
 
 
Investigators believe that these arrests and the seized items are related to gang activity in the neighbourhood. The firearm appears to have been in the process of being illegally modified to allow for concealment. 
 
Sheldon John Michelle, a 35-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been arrested and charged with:
 
- Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of Scheduled Substance - Marijuana
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x5)
- Warrant for Arrest (Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x2))
 
He was detained in custody.
 
A 35-year-old male of Winnipeg has been arrested (with charges pending) for:
 
- Possession of a Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
 
A 30-year-old female of Winnipeg has been arrested (with charges pending) for:
 
- Possession of a Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
 
They were released on a Promise to Appear.
