RESIDENTIAL ROBBERY INVESTIGATION   C14-34164
On February 16, 2014 at 1:45 a.m., Patrol members responded to a suite located in the 1000 block of Bairdmore Boulevard regarding a residential robbery incident involving a lone male suspect.
 
Prior to police arrival, a male and female occupant was socializing in a suite when an unknown male knocked at the door. The suspect pushed his way into the suite when he began assaulting the male occupant. The female occupant attempted to intervene, biting the suspect on his right hand.
 
The suspect fled after robbing the victims of a cellular phone.
 
The 27 year-old-male victim was transported in critical condition, later upgraded to stable condition.
 
The suspect is described as: Caucasian, 20-30 years-old, 6'00" + tall, medium build and very short light brown hair.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the West District Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2877 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).  
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY   C14-34424
On February 16, 2014 at 1:45 p.m., two male suspects attended to a gas bar located in the 300 block of Wardlaw Avenue and confronted an 18-year-old-male employee.
 
The suspects, one of which was armed with a weapon demanded cash and forced the employee to the ground. The business was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.
 
The suspects are described as:
 

  • Caucasian, males, in their 30's, 6'2" tall and 185 lbs.

 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
ASSAULT INVESTIGATION   C14-34425
On February 16, 2014 at 2:10 p.m., East District Patrol members responded to the report of a fight at a community centre located on Lakewood Boulevard involving several people.
 
The investigation has revealed that an altercation occurred during and at the conclusion of a hockey game involving players, coaches and officials.
 
At this time, no charges have been laid and the investigation is on-going.
 
No further information is available at this time.
 
 
ROBBERY INVESTIGATION – ARREST   C14-34812
On February 17, 2014 at 1:40 a.m., Patrol and Canine Unit members responded to a robbery incident that just occurred in the area of Main Street and Redwood Avenue involving a taxi cab driver. 
 
The investigation has revealed that the cab driver was confronted by an armed male passenger and robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash.
 
Canine, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team tracked the suspect to a residence located in the 300 block of Redwood Avenue. A 39 year-old-male was arrested and is facing the following charges:
 
Robbery
Possession of a Weapon x 2
Use of Imitation Firearm during Commission of an Indictable Offence
Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Disguise with Intent
Fail to Comply Condition Undertaking
 
He remains in custody.
