Firearms Seizure – C14-268851
On December 17, 2014 at approximately 6:30 p.m. members of the Division 11 Community Support Unit attended to a residence in the 500 block of Beverley Street to assist a landlord in regards to a tenant dispute.  Several people, including the tenant, were located within the home.  The tenant, found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant, was subsequently arrested.  None of the other occupants resided in the residence and while ensuring that no one remained in the home, a large cache of firearms and ammunition was observed by officers.  All present were subsequently arrested for firearms related offences.  The residence was secured and a Firearms Search Warrant obtained.
 
As a result of the search, the following was seized:

  • Sako 7mm bolt action rifle with scope
  • 300 win mag Browning bolt action rifle with scope
  • Hiawatha .22 calibre rifle
  • Two Stevens pump action 12 gauge sawed off shot guns
  • Pellet hand gun
  • Pellet rifle
  • Miscellaneous gun parts
  • Several thousand rounds of assorted ammunition


                


Jordan Phillip AMEER-BEG, 18 years of Winnipeg has been charged with the following for his alleged involvement:

  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations x 6
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 6
  • Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with ammunition x 2
  • Possess  Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x 7
  • Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime x 6
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 7
  • Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm
  • Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance x 2
  • Fail to Comply with Disposition x 2

Brittany Alexandra HENTSCHEL, 24 years of Winnipeg has been charged with the following for her alleged involvement:

  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations x 6
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 6
  • Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with ammunition x 2
  • Possess  Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x 7
  • Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime x 6
  • Tampering with serial number
  • W.T.A.  for Failing to Appear Court (re: Break Enter & Theft)

Chad Edward MOLYNEUX, 23 years of Winnipeg has been charged with the following for his alleged involvement:

  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations x 6
  • Unauthorized Possession of  a Firearm x 6
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with ammunition x 2
  • Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x 7
  • Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime x 6
  • Tampering with serial number
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00 x 2

Melanie Mae Lynn RUDOLPH, 25 years of Winnipeghas been charged with the following for her alleged involvement:                                

  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations x 6
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 6
  • Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with ammunition X 2
  • Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x 7
  • Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime x 6
  • Tampering with serial number

All were detained in custody.
 
The investigation is continuing and further arrests are expected.

 
Update - Homicide Investigation – C14-79075
As previously released- On April 19, 2014 shortly after 11:00 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Dufferin Avenue and Salter Street for the report of an injured male on the road.
 
Upon arrival, a 17-year-old male was located suffering from upper body injuries.  He was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to those injuries.
 
A second injured male, 18 years of age, was located nearby.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition and was later upgraded to stable.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit.  It was learned that the two above males had come across a male walking in the area and proceeded to attempt to rob him of property.  The male produced a weapon, and in an attempt to defend him-self, stabbed both males.  He then fled the scene.
 
The 38-year-old male turned himself in to police a short time after the incident and was arrested for Murder.  A senior Crown Attorney was consulted and the male was released pending further investigation.
 
After a thorough review, the Crown has advised that no charges will be laid against the 38-year-old male.
 
 
Serious Motor Vehicle Collision – C14-269692
On December 18, 2014 at approximately 10:30 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of McPhillips Street and Jarvis Avenue for the report of a motor vehicle collision involving pedestrians.
 
A 70-year-old female was transported to hospital in critical condition.
 
A 60-year-old male was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
 
Early investigation by members of the Central Traffic Unit has revealed that a vehicle travelling in the south bound lanes of McPhillips struck the two pedestrians who had been attempting to cross westbound.
The driver has been interviewed and was released with no charge pending further investigation.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matteris asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6271 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).

 

Human Trafficking Arrest / Further Charges –
R14-52407

As previously released, since the summer of 2014 Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Counter Exploitation Unit have been involved in an investigation regarding the victimization of an adult female.

Investigation revealed that the suspect and victim had initially met in Winnipeg and later travelled together to Brandon, Manitoba.  From March of 2014 till mid-October the victim was forced to work as an escort.  During that time the accused would advertise, for a fee, the sexual services of the victim.  Throughout the time period the accused threatened the victim with violence should she not perform the work and on one occasion did physically assault her.

For his alleged involvement, Dale Richard AYMONT 43 years of Winnipeg was charged with several offences and detained in custody.

The investigation continued and two further adult female victims came forward.

Between May 1, 2014 and October 15, 2014 as in the previous allegations, AYMONT used violence and threats of violence to force the victims to work in the sex trade in Brandon, Manitoba.

AYMONT has been charged with the following for his further alleged involvement:

  • Trafficking in Persons
  • Material Benefit Resulting from Trafficking in Persons
  • Living on Avails of Prostitution
  • Assault x 2
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Robbery
  • Overcome Resistance by Attempting to Choke, Suffocate or Strangle Another Person

He was remanded back into custody.
