UPDATE: MISSING PERSON – Colten PRATT R14-82271
The Winnipeg Police Service is continuing to request the public's assistance in locating 26-year-old, Colten Pratt. Tomorrow marks the three year anniversary of his disappearance. Investigators have previously released that Colten was seen on November 6, 2014 in the downtown area of Winnipeg and believed that he was later seen in a bus shelter on the Corner of Main St and Redwood Ave. in the early morning hours of Friday, November 7, 2014.
Investigators have since acquired video footage of a male believed to be the missing person in and around the bus shelter between 12:20 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. on the morning of November 7, 2014. During this time period it is believed that he had an encounter with at least two individuals at this location. Winnipeg Police are requesting that anyone who recalls seeing activity at this this location or has further information regarding these events contacts police.
PRATT is described as an Aboriginal male, 5'10" tall, approximately 160 pounds with a thin build, short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown plaid jacket and blue jeans.
Assault Peace Officer - Arrest: C17-251038
As previously released:
On October 21, 2017, at approximately 2:15 a.m., members of the District 3 Community Support Unit observed a sedan traveling in 300 block of St. Mary Avenue with fresh damage to the side of the vehicle and three occupants.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and the male driver was found to be the subject of two arrest warrants and court-ordered conditions. As the driver was placed under arrest, he sped off and dragged the officer for approximately 75 meters before he was able to free himself.
A short time later, the vehicle was located unoccupied in the 200 block of Balmoral Street after it had hit two parked vehicles. The officer was treated in hospital for minor injuries.
Investigators have identified a suspect in this incident; however, the Winnipeg Police Service is unable to release the name until an arrest warrant has been issued.
On November 3, 2017 a warrant was issued for Christopher James FLETT, 28-years-old of Winnipeg for Assault Peace Officer, Resist Peace Officer, Public Mischief, Drive without a Licence or With Invalid Licence and Drive without Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance.
On November 5, 2017 general patrol members observed FLETT driving in the 1600 block of Pembina Hwy and conducted a traffic stop. FLETT was arrested and taken into custody at which time he attempted punch one of the arresting officers.
He has been detained in custody.
Armed & Barricaded – Arrest: C17-250920
On November 5, 2017, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a male armed with a gun at a residence in the 1100 block of Polson Avenue.
The male suspect was a relative of the residents. He made threats to kill both an occupant of the house as well as responding police officers. All occupants of the house, with the exception of the suspect, were able to safely flee the building.
Winnipeg Police deployed a significant number of resources to ensure the safest possible outcome for all parties involved including residents in the immediate area. Police units involved included:
- General Patrol Units from Central Division, East District, and Division 13
- K-9 Units
- Tactical Support Team
- Major Crimes Unit
- Crisis Negotiators
- Air1
The incident was concluded safely after approximately 7 hours. At that time a 21-year-old male was taken into custody. He was charged with a number of offences including:
- Point Firearm
- Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possess Weapon While Knowing its Possession is Un-authorized
- Utter Threats
- Breach of Probation
