New Opportunities for Engagement with the City of Winnipeg

Help Shape the City of Winnipeg Climate Change Action Plan 

You're invited to help plan for climate change by providing input on the vision, targets, and actions for Winnipeg's Climate Action Plan: Planning for Climate Change. Acting for People. The purpose of this process is to develop strategies that will lead to a community-wide climate action plan to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Join us for the first of several opportunities to explore a climate vision for the City of Winnipeg.

Time: Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; session runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

North District Police Station Community Workshop

The Old Exhibition Grounds site has been identified as a suitable location for the station in terms of service delivery. Join us at a community workshop on November 14 to share your feedback.

Transit Garage Expansion Information Session

You're invited to attend an information session on the Winnipeg Transit Bus Maintenance Garage Expansion project on November 16, 2017. The information session will present the proposed garage design and gather feedback from the public. The information session builds on public input collected at past stakeholder meetings, and an open house held in January 2017.

Location: Fort Rouge Leisure Centre, 625 Osborne St.
Format: Drop-in (come and go)

Help Shape the Off-leash Dog Areas Master Plan

Go online and fill out both a survey and add to an online mapping tool to provide your feedback for the master plan to address and respond to growing interest and demand for off-leash dog areas in Winnipeg. You can also visit the team at a 'pup-up' engagement event in the coming weeks to share your feedback in person. Details on in person events to come. All park users are encouraged to contribute.

Handi-Transit Renaming Campaign

You are invited to help select a new name for its Handi-Transit service that better reflects the City of Winnipeg's commitment to equal and inclusive customer service to all residents. 

Handi-Transit asked its key stakeholders for their ideas and suggestions for a new name. Their suggestions were reviewed by the Policy Advisory Committee which narrowed the selection. The City is now asking Winnipeggers to choose from the following three options:
1.     Winnipeg Transit Plus
2.     Winnipeg Transit Connect
3.     Winnipeg Transit Link

Residential Infill Strategy Survey and Housing Speaker Series 

The City is seeking feedback from the public on infill. As a starting point to gather public input, we encourage you and your family and friends to complete an online survey, and share your thoughts on infill with us.

The City of Winnipeg is also hosting an interactive panel discussion about Infill Housing as part of its Housing Speaker Series:

Adjustable bike lane curbs pilot

The City installed adjustable bike lane curbs in two locations to test installation methods, monitor maintenance, and assess the comfort level of users. 
   
For more information, to fill out a survey or to view a map of the changes online, please visit winnipeg.ca/walkbikeprojects and select an adjustable bike lane curbs project. The survey will be open for the duration of the pilot project.

St. John's Park Redevelopment Master Plan

Thank you to everyone who took time to fill out the online survey available on this site from May 17 to 31, 2017. We collected 110 surveys. Information collected on this project is now being analyzed and incorporated into the project design.
