Crime Prevention Tip

SCHOOL IS OUT FOR SUMMER!!

Know where your children are: Have your children tell you or ask permission before leaving the house and give them a time to check in or be home. When possible, have them leave a phone number of where they will be.

Vacation: If you are taking a well-deserved trip out of town leave exterior lights on to deter potential intruders. While you're away from home, leave at least two interior lights on, preferably on timers.

Be your neighbour's keeper: Check in with your senior neighbours from time to time and volunteer to accompany them on outings where they may feel unsafe.

Enjoy your summer: There will be a lot of large events happening within the city, prior to attending be sure to establish safety plans with your crew (adults and children). If you get separated attend the event information booth for assistance.

Consider: Become an active member of a local crime prevention or safety promotion organization such as Neighbourhood Watch or Block Parents.

Stay Safe!

Happy 150th Canada!!
