Male Wanted - Rueben Jaymes SINCLAIR, 29-years old - C16-233604

Public Advisory:

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a male wanted, 29-year-old, Rueben SINCLAIR.

Multiple warrants are currently active for the arrest of SINCLAIR regarding property related crimes city wide.

SINCLAIR is described as an aboriginal male, 6'1" tall, 190 pounds, average build, and black hair.


     


SINCLAIR is not to be approached, if located, call police immediately.

Anyone with information regarding SINCLAIR'S whereabouts is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2848 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

Sudden Death Investigation - C16-243604
On November 20, 2016 at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a hotel located in the 200 block of McDermot Avenue regarding a deceased male.

The investigation has revealed that a 30 year old male was staying at the hotel when he was located by staff.

Upon police arrival, drugs and drug paraphernalia was located and seized by officers. Although fentanyl is suspected, the cause of death is unconfirmed at this time.

Further testing and analysis is underway and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.


Sudden Death Investigation - C16-243937
On November 20, 2016 at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service, along with the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a residence located in the first 100 block of Kinlock Lane regarding 2 males in medical distress.

The males were transported to hospital and a 22-year-old has since been pronounced deceased. A 21-year-old remains in critical condition.

The investigation has revealed that illicit drugs were present within the residence. Although fentanyl is suspected, the cause of death is unconfirmed at this time.

Further testing and analysis is underway and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

Today, we encourage you to connect with Members of the Winnipeg Police Service Crime Prevention Team at Kildonan Place Shopping Centre located at 1555 Regent Avenue West between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
 

By speaking with officers, you can learn more about how you can be a partner in crime prevention.

• Officers, Cadets and Victim Services team members on hand to answer your questions
• Crime prevention handouts available
• MPI's distracted driving simulator to try out
• Representatives from Winnipeg Transit available to talk to about safety on the bus

Male Shot - C16-241333
On November 17, 2016 at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the first 100 block of Pine Tree Crescent regarding a firearm related incident.

Officers attended and located a 22 year old male with upper body injuries consistent with being shot. He was transported to hospital by the members of the WFPS and is now in stable condition.

At this time, it's been reported that the victim was shot after answering the door of his residence. The suspect, described as a Black male, 30-40 years, 5' 11" tall, fled the area.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate.

Graduation of Winnipeg Police Service Recruit Classes #159 & #159 Lateral
The Winnipeg Police Service is pleased to announce the graduation of 33 police recruits from Recruit Class #159 and #159L.

The graduation ceremony will be held today at 1:00 p.m. at the Minto Armoury, 969 St. Matthews Avenue.  Members of the public and the media are invited to attend.

The recruit class consists of 6 females, 2 lateral entry Constables and 15 officers who were previously members of the Winnipeg Police Service Cadet Program.

Congratulations to all graduates!

Feedback on the 2017 Budget Priorities and Preferences Released

The final report on the 2017 budget consultations now available

Thank you to all who participated in the 2017 budget consultation process. The consultation process engaged a total of 963 participants, and recorded 1,280 visits to the Let's Talk website.
 
Opportunities for organizations and members of the public to provide feedback on the 2017 preliminary budgets will continue in November and early December after the budgets are tabled at Executive Policy Committee on November 22, 2016. Organizations and members of the public are welcome to register as a delegation and present at Standing Policy Committee meetings. For more information on these meetings, please consult the November 10, 2017 news release.

UPDATE:  Missing Person Investigation – C16-240730
The Winnipeg Police Service had previously requested the public's assistance in locating 21-year-old, Zachary HUCALL, who was as last seen on November 16, 2016, at approximately 2:30 a.m., in the Charleswood area of Winnipeg.

HUCALL has been located deceased, foul play not suspected. 

The Winnipeg Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance. The family is requesting that the media respect their right to privacy during this time.
