Drugs/Weapon – Arrest: C18-221682
 
On October 7, 2018, at approximately 10:20 a.m., Street Crime Unit officers were patrolling the West End area when they observed a vehicle driving suspiciously and at a high rate of speed. While officers attempted to catch up to the vehicle, the driver committed several infractions of the Highway Traffic Act.
 
A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 block of Beverley Street and officers immediately observed a 6" knife inside the vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest and a search of property found within the vehicle resulted in the seizure of the following:
 
- Four small plastic bags of methamphetamine (2.1 grams total)
- A small Ziploc-style bag of methamphetamine (0.3 grams)
- A larger Ziploc-style bag of methamphetamine (8.2 grams)
- A digital scale contaminated with a substance believed to be methamphetamine
 
The estimated value of the seized methamphetamine is $1,500.
 
Colin Cruz Oosterom, a 43-year-old male of Vancouver, British Columbia, has been charged with:
 
- Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
 
He was detained in custody.
