Landlord Information Session North District area
On October 16, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., the North District Community Support Unit will be hosting a 'Landlord Information Session' to provide landlords within the community with information that can help them better understand legal and social issues/constraints.
The Winnipeg Police Service is offering this information session to both current landlords and persons who are interested in becoming landlords, in order to promote successful and positive relationships with tenants.
There will be speakers present from the Winnipeg Police Service, Residential Tenancy Branch, Child and Family Services and Manitoba Justice (Safer Communities).
The information session will be held at the William Whyte School located at 200 Powers Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and attendance is free.
Thefts/Robbery Arrest: E18-18528
Between June 16, 2018, and September 18, 2018, a male suspect attended various Liquor Mart locations around the city of Winnipeg. The suspect would often enter the store, select several liquor bottles and exit the store without making any attempt to pay. A quantity of liquor worth approximately $19,270 was stolen over the course of 18 incidents.
During one incident on July 4, 2018, a Liquor Mart employee was verbally threatened.
On October 8, 2018, at approximately 10:40 a.m., members of the North District Community Support Unit arrested a male in the 400 block of Banning Street. The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
A 16-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with theft and robbery-related offences.
He has been detained in custody.
