Crime Prevention Tip

SUMMER GET AWAY:

The month of July awards many of us with holiday time away from places of employment / education.  Many citizens find themselves taking refuge from the summer heat out at the lake.  Following are some safety and security tips regarding summer getaway to the lake:

  ·         Travel at a safe speed when making your way out to your destination.  Thus allowing for good reaction time for road hazards (i.e.: construction zones, wild life, erratic drivers etc.)

  ·         Notify relative and /or trusted neighbor,  of your travel plans (i.e.: location, contact info, and date of return)

  ·         Have a trusted relative or neighbor (or both) check on your residence while you are away (and pick up your mail).  OR notify your neighborhood watch block captain.

  ·         Purchase and make use of interior lamp timers to turn lights on and off while you are away.

Remember to have a safe and enjoyable refrain from work and school.
