The City of Winnipeg is inviting citizens to engage on a variety of City initiatives. Please read below for current engagement opportunities, both in person and online.
Combined Sewer Overflows Master Plan
The City of Winnipeg is developing a plan to manage the effects of combined sewer overflows (CSOs) on our rivers in an environmentally sound, sustainable and cost-effective manner.
We encourage citizens to engage on this project by:
- Watching public meetings online
- Contributing your feedback online until October 5, 2015
Visit City of Winnipeg CSO Master Plan for more information.
Organics Diversion Strategy
City Council approved a comprehensive waste management plan in October 2011, designed to keep more than half of our garbage out of the landfill by giving Winnipeg residents more ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. The next step is an Organics Diversion Strategy and we want your input.
We encourage citizens to engage on this project by:
- Watching a video online of the organics symposium held on September 9
- Finding out what was said at the symposium by reviewing the event report
- Contributing your feedback about the Organics Diversion Strategy
Visit City of Winnipeg Organics Diversion Strategy for more information.
CPR Yards Crossing Study Arlington Bridge Solutions
The Arlington Bridge is coming to the end of its useable life and fixing it is not possible. The goal of this study is to determine the best possible plan to move people and goods safely and efficiently across the CPR Yards when the Arlington Bridge closes.
Open houses were held in September but there is still time to provide your feedback through our virtual open house.
We encourage citizens to engage on this project by:
- Visiting cprcrossing.winnipeg.ca and clicking on the button in the top right-hand corner to view the open house materials and provide your feedback online by October 16, 2015.
Visit City of Winnipeg CPR Yards Crossing Study for more information.
King's Park Master Plan
The City is preparing a King's Park Master Plan which will include an assessment of existing infrastructure at the park and a reinvestment strategy. As part of the Master Plan for the park, we are asking for input from the community.
We encourage citizens to engage on this property by:
- Attending a public open house on Wednesday, October 7 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the École St. Avila (633 Patricia Avenue). There is ample bike and vehicle parking at the venue and the format is come and go.
Visit City of Winnipeg King's Park Master Plan for more information.
