Friday, 21 April 2017 Child Abuse Imagery Arrest - R16-67302, R17-30058 The Winnipeg Police Service's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has arrested a suspect in connection to an investigation into child sexual abuse imagery. On June 2016, an unknown individual uploaded child pornography to an internet chatroom. The incident was reported to the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children and the ICE unit began an investigation. In March 2017, investigators, along with members of the Technological Crimes Unit, executed a search warrant in the first 100 block of Roslyn Road and seized a number of electronic devices. Julio Edgardo Nunfio, a 42-years-old male of Winnipeg, was arrested and charged with the following offences: - Possession of Child Pornography - Make Available Child Pornography Nunfio was detained in custody. The investigation continued and further evidence was uncovered which ultimately led to a number of additional charges. On April 20th, 2017, Nunfio was re-arrested and charged with the following offences: - Indecent Act - Invitation to Sexual Touching - Luring a Person Under 14 years of age by Means of Telecommunication - Make Available Child Pornography - Fail to Comply Conditions Recognizance (x3) Nunfio has been detained in custody.
