Robbery Arrests – C16-164754
On August 8, 2016, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Winnipeg Police general patrol units responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of The Forks Market.

Officers arrived to find several victims had been confronted by multiple suspects who were armed with a variety of weapons.  The suspects damaged vehicles and confronted several victims, assaulted then, and stole personal property from them. 

Members of Division 11 General Patrol, Tactical Support Unit and the Canine Unit became involved in the investigation, located and arrested 4 suspects.

This investigation is in its early stages. Further information will be released as it becomes available.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims or witnesses to this incident.

Sexual Assault - C16-64663
On August 8, 2016, at approximately 9:45 p.m. Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a sexual assault that had occurred earlier on a Winnipeg Transit bus.

The victim, a 16-year-old-female, was alone on the bus on route #17. An unknown male sat next to her and groped her.  An adult female passenger intervened at which time the victim was able to move the front of the bus and alert the driver. The victim was not physically harmed.     

      The suspect denied the accusation and was able to flee the bus in the area of McDermot Avenue and Frances Street.

The male suspect is described as:
- Aboriginal in appearance
- 20 to 30-years-of-age
- approximately 6'2" in height
- skinny build
- dark, thick curly hair
- cast on right hand

This investigation is continuing by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6668 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
