Lyndale Drive Retaining Wall Study - Information Meeting

The City of Winnipeg is beginning a preliminary engineering study of the retaining wall on Lyndale Drive which forms a portion of the City's primary diking system to defend against flooding along the Red River. The riverbank has a history of instability, and an existing timber retaining wall between Gauvin Avenue and Monck Avenue is nearing the end of its design life

A study is required to develop a preliminary design for replacement, rehabilitation, or removal of the retaining wall. The study aims to take into account the broad range of transportation, environmental and community priorities important to the project, including pedestrian and cycling facilities.

Citizens are invited to a public meeting to get background information on the project, and to provide input into the planning and design process.

Date: Tuesday, February 2, 2016

Time: Registration: 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm
Presentation and discussion: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Location: Norwood Community Centre, 87 Walmer Street
