The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in identifying a deceased adult male.  His body was located at the rear of the Garrick Hotel, 287 Garry Street, on the afternoon of Monday, January 12, 2015.

Foul play is not suspected.  Attempts to identify this individual have at present met with negative results and it is believed that the male has had no past dealings with police.

This male is described as: Caucasian, darker skin tone, approximately 50-60 years old, 6 feet, very slim built, 125lbs, missing some teeth, brown eyes, medium-length brownish-grey hair, mustache, no tattoos, light 1 inch scar on forehead.  At the time this male was located, he was wearing glasses, a black t-shirt, black jeans, white AVIA runners and a Ferretti Quartz watch with a silver band.

The Winnipeg Police Service is asking for the public's assistance in identifying this male.  Anyone with any information regarding the identity of this male is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.


Assault – C15-10941
On January 16, 2015, shortly after 9:30 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the area of Lincoln Avenue and Worth Street for the report of an assault that had just occurred.
 
Several units flooded the area however the suspect was not located.
 
Officers met with the 12-year-old victim who related that at approximately 9:30 a.m. she was on her way to school, walking north on Worth Street.  As she passed the back lane of Lincoln Avenue, an unknown male called out to her.  Feeling uneasy, she continued on but was grabbed from behind and pulled into the lane where the suspect proceeded to physically assault her.  The victim was able to scream for help at which point the suspect was scared off and ran eastbound down the lane.  It should be noted that during the assault the victim noted that the suspect was armed with a weapon.
 
The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault.
 
The suspect is described as a: white male, 30-40 years of age, 6' tall with a skinny build, short dark hair and a deep voice.  He was wearing black baggy sweat pants, black zip up hooded sweater and a black ski mask.
 
Members of the Division 11 Crime Unit are continuing with the investigation.  They are asking that anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect to contact investigators at (204) 986-6668 or CrimeStoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
