Thelma Krull – Investigation: C15-145099

Evidence continues to be collected in the Thelma Krull investigation.  To date, the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit has received more than 400 tips.

Today marks the three-year disappearance of Thelma Krull, who was last seen on July 11, 2015 in the East Kildonan area.

Thelma had gone for a walk at 7:23 a.m. and is believed to have walked from her residence in the Grassie Blvd. area to an area known as Civic Park near Kildonan East Collegiate. She had arrived in this area at approximately 8:00 a.m.

Several items belonging to Thelma have been recovered which include her glasses and cellular phone.

    

   
Thelma is described as a Caucasian female, 5'4" tall, 170 pounds and short dyed blonde hair with a purple streak. Investigators would like to remind the public that Thelma was last seen wearing the following items:

•           Reddish – orange t-shirt (this is a bright coloured shirt)
•           ¾ length black Capri style pants
•           Black fanny pack
•           Tan / brown hiking style boots / shoes

Following our news release on July 11, 2016, information was received regarding a possible sighting of Thelma Krull in the area of Kimberly Avenue, east of Gateway Road. A female with similar descriptors as Thelma Krull was reported to be in the company of a heavy set male, Indigenous in appearance, approximately 5'8" tall, 270 lbs., with a bowl-style haircut. The following is an artist's sketch of the male.



It has been determined that this information has formed a significant part of the investigation.

Homicide investigators are still looking to identify this male.

We continue to ask anyone with information that hasn't yet spoken with investigators to come forward.

Sexual Assault – Arrest: C18-10028

On January 14, 2018, Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a serious sexual assault that had occurred at a residence in the city. The victim was an adult female. The assault was not domestic in nature.

Detectives from the Sex Crimes Unit took charge of the investigation. As result, on July 10, 2018, investigators arrested a 48-year-old male.

Russell George WYATT has been charged with Sexual Assault.

He was released on a Promise to Appear.
