Tuesday, May 16, 2017 2017 Canada Road Safety Week Canada Road Safety Week is a collaborative effort by Canadian Police Services to target high risk driving behaviour that puts drivers, passengers, cyclists, pedestrians, and other road users at risk. The national campaign is sponsored by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police and is aimed at making Canada's roads safer. This year's seven day campaign runs May 16 - 22, 2017. Police will be targeting the "Big 4 Killers" on our roads: Impaired Driving, Failure to Wear/Improper Use of Seatbelts, Distracted Driving and Aggressive Driving. This enforcement driven initiative is designed to increase public compliance and awareness with safe driving measures and ultimately, to save lives. Educating the public on the importance of safe driving behaviour is a priority. Let's all do our part to improve safety on our roadways. | For further information contact either: Constable Rob Carver, Public Information Officer Constable Jay Murray, Public Information Officer Constable Tammy Skrabek, Public Information Officer Kelly Dehn, Manager of Public Affairs Phone: (204) 986-3061 | Fax: (204) 986-3267 | Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca | Share this mailing with your social network by clicking on the appropriate link: | |
