Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

 

  November 29th, 2010

WEAPON INCIDENT C10-270157
On November 26, 2010 at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were notified of a gun incident that occurred 30 minutes earlier in the area of Magnus Avenue and Powers Street.
 
The investigation has revealed that a 36 year old female was operating her vehicle eastbound on Magnus Avenue near Powers Street when she began slowing down in attempt to find a parking spot. It was at this time 3 male youths stepped onto the roadway and blocked her path. One of the suspects produced a gun and pointed it in the direction of the victim. A second suspect threw a can of cola at her vehicle and the third stood-by while holding a shovel.
 
The victim eventually proceeded forward in her vehicle and the youths stepped out of the way.
 
No shots were fired and the victim was not injured.
 
The suspects are described as follows:
 
Suspect 1 – Male, 14-16 years of age, 5'6" tall, slim build, wearing: a black toque, black hoody, black handkerchief covering lower portion of face, baggy black pants and black shoes (Male in possession of gun).
 
Suspect 2 - Male, 14-16 years of age, 5'6" tall, slim build, wearing: a black toque, black hoody, black handkerchief covering lower portion of face, baggy black pants and black shoes.
 
Suspect 3 – Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 14-16 years of age, 5'6" tall, slim build, wearing: a dark handkerchief, black baseball cap, white hoody worn under a red and white jacket with black piping, and white pants.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding the incident or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact investigators at 986-2848 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
  
STRONG-ARM ROBBERY C10-271911
On November 28, 2010 at approximately 7:15 p.m., Uniform members were dispatched to the area of Sheppard Street and Mapleglen Drive regarding a robbery incident.
 
Attending members discovered that a 46 year old male victim was confronted by two suspects unknown to him while walking in the area of Manor House Court.
 
One of the suspects subsequently grabbed the victim to the upper body and demanded his property. The victim refused, at which time the second suspect produced a weapon. The victim surrendered an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area.
 
Police were notified and attended.
 
The suspects are described as follows:
 
Suspect 1 - Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 18-20 years, 5'9" tall, 200 lbs., wearing: white sweats with a Nike hoody, black toque, and black mitts.
 
Suspect 2 – Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 18-20 years, 5'10" tall, 170 lbs., wearing: black clothing.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding the incident or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact investigators at 986-2848 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
