Male Wanted – Public Assistance Requested – C14-263894
The Winnipeg Police Service is currently requesting the public's assistance in locating a male identified as David Siegfried DAHER, 54 years-old.
 
DAHER is wanted for Assault with a Weapon x 3 and Uttering Threats x 3 in connection to an incident in December 2014.
 
DAHER is described as a Caucasian male, 5'11" tall, 200 pounds, medium build, grey shaved hair/partially bald and green eyes.


 
 

 
 


If anyone has information as to the whereabouts of DAHER please contact members of the District 3 Crime Unit directly at 204-986-2848 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

Missing Person – Parker MENEC – R15-1146
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating the following 16-year-old male, Parker MENEC.  MENEC was last seen in the Riverview area of Winnipeg on Tuesday, January 6th, 2015 at approximately 9:30 p.m.
 
MENEC is described: Caucasian, 5'5" tall, approximately 120 pounds with a thin build, brown hair and green eyes. He is believed to be wearing a black coat and brown runners.

 

Anyone with information regarding MENEC's whereabouts is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.

CDSA Warrant Arrest - C15-002429
On January 4, 2015, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Street Crime Unit applied for and were granted a Controlled Drugs and Substances (CDSA) Search Warrant for a residence in the 400 block of Nairn Avenue.
 
On January 5th, with the assistance of Division 13 Community Support, East District Uniform members and the Tactical Support Team, the warrant was executed.  Several persons within the residence were taken into custody without incident.  A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of the following:
 

  • Loaded, sawed-off Model 101 Winchester 12 gauge shotgun
  • Ammunition
  • Rifle scope

 
Subsequent investigation revealed that the shotgun had been stolen from a Winnipeg residence in January, 2014.
 
Kyle Joseph KOSTIUK, 25 years of Winnipeghas been charged with the following offences for his alleged involvement:
 

  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
  • Careless Storage of Firearm Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition

He was remanded into custody.
 
All others present within the residence were released without charge.
 
 
Pursuit - Impaired Driving Arrest – C15-003972
On January 7, 2015 at approximately 12:15 a.m., Patrol members observed a Chevrolet Uplander being operated in the area of Nairn Avenue and Panet Road.
 
Computer checks revealed that the insurance for the vehicle was suspended. As a result, officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Regent Avenue West and Stapon Road. As the officer approached the vehicle, the driver sped off evading contact with police.
 
Officers pursued the vehicle which was observed being operated at excessive speeds and disobeying numerous traffic control devices.
 
The vehicle was eventually stopped and the suspect was taken into custody in the area of Gables Court and Kildare Avenue East.
 
Marc Allen SWEET, 35 years-old of Winnipeghas been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
 
Driving while ability impaired
Flight while pursued by peace officer
Resist peace officer
Dangerous operation of motor vehicle
Fail to comply with probation order
 
Highway Traffic Act Offences
Driver – Fail to leave particulars re: damage – unattended vehicle
Drive with registration suspended
Drive while disqualified
 
He was remanded into custody.

FESTIVE SEASON CHECKSTOP PROGRAM - WEEK #5 (Dec 29, 30 &31) RESULTS
The Winnipeg Police Service Central Traffic Unit has provided the results from the fifth week of the Festive Season Check Stop Program.
 
174 - vehicles stopped
23   - roadside breath tests administered
3     - ASD WARNS IE: 24 hr drivers licence suspensions
1     - ASD FAIL
7     - Drive Impaired/Drive Over 80mg%/Refusal charges
31   - PONS
 

FESTIVE SEASON CHECKSTOP PROGRAM – SEASON RESULTS
The Winnipeg Police Service Central Traffic Unit has provided the final results from the Festive Season Check Stop Program.

Bethlehem ELISO has been safely located in the general area where she was reported missing.


The Winnipeg Police Service would like to thank members of the media and public for their assistance in this matter.
 
 
UPDATE RE: Missing Person – Bethlehem ELISO (ZELEKE) –
C15-3050

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a 17-year-old female, Bethlehem ELISO - also goes by ZELEKE.  ELISO was last seen on Monday, January 5, 2015 at approximately 11:45 a.m. in the Elmwood area of Winnipeg.
 
ELISO is described as: Ethiopian, 5'5 tall with a thin build and medium length black hair. She was last seen wearing a predominately red jacket with some black, pink pants, multi-coloured toque, black boots, and pink gloves.

As she may have attempted to gain shelter, the Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the assistance of area residents/home owners and businesses to check any outdoor storage sheds, garages, vehicles, behind buildings and along any fence lines and treed areas.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service is concerned for ELISO'S well-being.  Anyone with any information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact The Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.
