Sunday, March 9, 2014       COMMERCIAL ROBBERY   C14-48726 On March 8, 2014 at approximately 12:00 noon, officers responded to a beer vendor robbery at a hotel located in the 1000 block of McPhillips Street.   A lone male suspect armed with a weapon confronted a 37 year-old male employee and demanded cash. An undisclosed amount was obtained and the suspect fled in a vehicle.   No injuries were reported.   The suspect is described as: Male, Caucasian, medium build, in his 20's.   The suspect vehicle is described as: A dark red Pontiac.   The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Saturday, March 8, 2014       ROBBERY – ARRESTS   C14-48308 On March 7, 2014 at approximately 9:50 p.m., Patrol and Canine Unit members responded to a robbery incident involving a taxi cab and two male suspects.   The investigation has revealed that a taxi cab driver (58 year-old male) picked up two males in the area of the 300 block of Smith Street. After driving to the 400 block of Spence Street, the males refused to pay the fare. It was at this time the suspects became verbally aggressive. Friday, March, 7, 2014      AGGRAVATED ASSAULT - ARRESTS   C14-42725 On February 28, 2014 at approximately 1:30 a.m., a 42 year-old male, along with a group of others had just exited a hotel located in the 600 block of Main Street to have a cigarette. While outside, the group suddenly confronted and began seriously assaulting the 42 year-old male by punching and kicking him to the ground. The assaults continued at which time the victim was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. The suspects fled the area. The victim was able to walk a short distance when he again encountered two of the previous suspects. While in the area of Main Street and Henry Avenue the victim was assaulted further, causing serious injuries. Again, the suspects fled the area. A passing motorist observed the victim at which time police were notified. The victim remains in critical condition. Due to a lengthy investigation by members of the Major Crimes Unit, with the assistance of Patrol members, Tactical Support Team and Forensics Identification, five suspects were identified and have since been arrested. Friday, March 7, 2014     PUBLIC ADVISORY – VEHICLE THEFT PREVENTION The Winnipeg Police Service would once again like to remind motorists to be mindful when leaving their running vehicles unattended, especially during cold winter conditions. Reports of stolen vehicles have been received as a result of those vehicles being left unattended while they were warming up. As well, each year a number of vehicles are stolen in Winnipeg as a result of keys being left in the ignition, or spare keys left within the passenger compartment of the vehicle (in the glove box, under the floor mat, etc.) Vehicle owners are strongly encouraged to protect their keys.  Do NOT leave spare keys within your vehicle. During the month of February 2014, a total of 117 vehicles were stolen within the city. Thank you for your assistance.    Wednesday, March 5, 2014     MISSING PERSON – NICHOLAS DANYLIUK   R14-15914 The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a 19 year-old male, NICHOLAS DANYLIUK.  DANYLIUK was last seen at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Monday, March 3rd, 2014, in the Grant Park area of Winnipeg.   DANYLIUK  is described as: Caucasian , 6'1" tall, 150 lbs., thin build, long straight brown hair and blue/grey eyes.
